Camping Recap

We are back from camping. It was a great time! We had a lot of fun hiking, spending time by the campfire, cooking and having fun with friends. The kids explored a lot around the wood and, of course, found sticks shaped like guns and went to town :)

It was a short hike to Narada Falls.

It has been a few days

We have been fairly busy this week so I have not blogged. I am in the middle of packing for our camping trip up to Mount Rainier with some friends. 2 nights, in a tent. I am really looking forward to it though because of the great company we will be in. The kids always have a blast. I will have some pictures to share when we get back.

Something cool happened this week. I was contacted by an old swimming friend from Hawaii through the alumni website. She has been in contact with a few more friends and so I have had the chance to talk to some friends I have not seen in over 10 years. It was hard to believe we are all in our 30's already, building families and careers. Life has taken us all in different directions. It was nice to see pictures of babies and see my friends reflected in their children. Very cool.

Lucas made a door hanger for his door the other day. It reads "No Girls Allowed". He said I am the one exception :) What a relief! I love that kid :)

Guess what I did?

On Saturday night, I painted a mural on a wall in our house. It's a wall upstairs even! It turned out really well, it looks cute. You are thinking that this is where I post a picture of it, right? Well, you will just have to come over and see it if you want to know what it looks like :)

It's really simple, more of a graphic design rather than a realistic scene. I wanted to bring a little bit of creativity and something unexpected to our home.

...this week-- to send a card to someone you love, just to let them know.

(NO e-cards...use a pen and a stamp. Remember those?)

Thanks for reading guys. I read the comments and am just glad you stop by. It probably wouldn't be a lot of fun writing to no one, would it?

We have had a nice slow week so far. I went to the Dr on Monday and he told me to take it easy this week and make getting better my priority. So that is what I have been doing.

We went to Trader Vic's for our Anniversary. The food was just ok. I don't drink but for some reason I decided to have one of their fruity tooty drinks that they are famous for. Do you know why they are famous? Because they probably put a whole bottle of alcohol in each one. After 10 minutes, I just wanted to go to the furniture store next door and take a nap on one of their beds.

Drinking was fun when I was young and spritely but....no longer.

Anniversary
