On Saturday night, I painted a mural on a wall in our house. It's a wall upstairs even! It turned out really well, it looks cute. You are thinking that this is where I post a picture of it, right? Well, you will just have to come over and see it if you want to know what it looks like :)
It's really simple, more of a graphic design rather than a realistic scene. I wanted to bring a little bit of creativity and something unexpected to our home.

I challenge you
...this week-- to send a card to someone you love, just to let them know.
(NO e-cards...use a pen and a stamp. Remember those?)

What's new?
Thanks for reading guys. I read the comments and am just glad you stop by. It probably wouldn't be a lot of fun writing to no one, would it?
We have had a nice slow week so far. I went to the Dr on Monday and he told me to take it easy this week and make getting better my priority. So that is what I have been doing.
We went to Trader Vic's for our Anniversary. The food was just ok. I don't drink but for some reason I decided to have one of their fruity tooty drinks that they are famous for. Do you know why they are famous? Because they probably put a whole bottle of alcohol in each one. After 10 minutes, I just wanted to go to the furniture store next door and take a nap on one of their beds.
Drinking was fun when I was young and spritely but....no longer.
The picture is of the cul-de-sac and what we all did to it the other day.

Slacking
Sorry it has been a few days since I updated. Not that you all are hanging on my every word!
Our trip to Canada was nice. Great to see family and friends. Lucas got to see Transformers (loved it) and we made it home in time for a couple of VIP's (very important parties)!
This week is going to be quiet so I will blog a bit and hopefully put some new pictures up. I will take this opportunity to say thank you for reading :)

Long Day
We helped some friends move yesterday. We were at it from 9 am until 7 pm. There was a lot of stuff! But it was almost a spa day for me because their kids took care of Ellie and Lucas all day long. The kids had a blast and we had to pry them away. Ellie zonked after about 2 1/2 minutes in the car (see Exhibit A)
I did start selling my pendants and have 8 orders already. How neat is that?

The kids are loving "letters"
This is what E wrote the other day. The first picture is her trying to write her name in Japanese.
The second one is her name in Japanese (written by Daddy) which she used as a sample to copy.
The last one is the coolest. This is E writing "her name". If you look at it, she did pretty well! There was no sample for her to copy or anything. She simply wrote it. Kids are so amazing sometimes.

Ikea Love
We went to Ikea today to get some stuff to organize my scrap area. I got some neat little fixtures, a shelf and a few containers. One of them is big enough to house the 4527187 monthly kits I have and need to store and use. Bonanza!
I dropped the kids off at the Smaland, the kids play area. They give you a beeper to carry around if the kids need you. This was e's first time being left at something like this but she was so excited. So I shopped and shopped, then the buzzer went off. When I got there, E was all cuddled up with one of the ladies that work there. She was sad. The lady tole me that L was really good with her, trying to comfort her and convince her to stay longer. But E really wanted to go. At least I got all my stuff done by the time she had had enough!

Pendants
I have had a lot of questions about my pendants when I have been out and about. I am thinking I may need to try my hand at selling a couple! I searched ebay and didn't see anything like this. I think these would make great gifts for Moms, Grandparents, family. They can double as ornaments too. A friend of mine used a small keychain size ball chain and put it on her purse. Lots of options.

7-8-7
Today is the official rollout of the 787 Dreamliner which Daddy designed a part of. So L and Daddy are going to the ceremony at Quest Field. It's 7/08/07, the perfect day for it!
E and I are having our girl's day. When I asked her what she wanted to do, she said "I want to go to the toy store, then go to McDonald's, put on sunscreen and go in the swimming pool". Sounds like the perfect day from a kid perspective! Maybe one day she will answer "Let's go to the spa together, do a bit of shopping, then come home and scrap the rest of the day!"

Easy Peasy
Here is a picture of a gift I recently gave. Very easy to do. All you need is a little bit of felt. Trace your shapes out on matching or contrasting colors. In this case, I picked a flower shape since it was for a girl. For a boy, try stars maybe? Cut them out, then glue them one on top of the other. I finished this one off with a chipboard star. Wait for the glue to dry and stick a safety pin through the back once dry. Pin it on to the ribbon. Much cheaper than a store bought bow and looks awfully cute.

Appointment
This morning, L saw that Burger King had a commercial out with Transformers in their kid's meals. I told him we could ht BK for lunch.
Around 11 am, he was invited to a friend's house. The mom served him lunch and he told her "This is just a snack before my lunch at Burger King". At 1 pm, he informed her that I needed to be called to remind me of "the appointment we had a Burger King".
Memory like a trap!

An important 4th
Last night was our first 4th of July with our Green Cards in hand. So it was an important one. We had our closest friends over, had a nice meal and lit off some fireworks in the front cul de sac.
L was, of course, loving every second of it. Running around with his friends, swimming and loving the fireworks. E ended up with industrial ear phones on to block the noise. She fell asleep with her fingers in her ears. Not crazy about the noise! But she woke up this morning talking about how pretty the fireworks were. She said "It made a noise like this..." then she screamed and yelled "BOOM!".
Lynette gave me a mini album with messages from all of our friends to celebrate our Green Cards. Very pretty, creative and thoughtful.

A blog, cool.
I have decided I need to start keeping a blog. I am on the computer enough as it is that I thought this would be a great way to document life.
Many times, I wish I could remember the "every day" of life, the things that over time just seem to fade away. The cute things the kids say, the funny things that happen. I have tried paper notebooks since I am such a paper fiend. But it never seems to work. My love for the net will probably make this a whole lot easier.
I decided to name my blog "Creative Jule". My blog will probably contain a lot of entries about creative stuff. One of the main motivators for keeping my blog is being able to look back and use some entries in my scrapbooks. So there will probably be a lot of everyday stuff, mixed in with creative stuff that I don't want to forget.
So....welcome to my blog!
